Member meeting: 9/30

What can KDP do for you?

An excellent question! Join us in the New Res courtyard on September 30th to brainstorm some new KDP activities. We’ll be there starting at 7pm–with food and drink–so bring some ideas. Here’s a little primer to get you started:

March 8, 2011: Founders Day Centennial. KDP turns 100, and we’re celebrating with a full-day conference open to the entire TC/CU community. The theme is “Leadership.” A call for presentation proposals will go out soon, so be thinking of ideas!
– September 30, 7pm, New Res Courtyard: member meeting to discuss upcoming events and make suggestions for lecture topics, service projects, or social gatherings. Bring ideas! If you can’t attend, send along suggestions. Please RSVP, as we’ll provide food.
– Early October: Academic lecture. Kappa Chapter is co-sponsoring a talk from Prof Avner Segall of Michigan State on how white teachers approach Hurricane Katrina.
– Mid-October: Academic lecture. We are speaking with Prof Terry Maltbia about a presentation on Leveraging Diversity. Details to come!
– Nov 20, 11m-1pm: Fall induction. Current members are encouraged to come meet incoming members, or just enjoy the refreshments.
– Early December: Academic lecture. We are speaking with Prof Anna Neumann about a presentation on Higher Ed Leadership. Details to come!
– December 13-21: Better World Books book drive. This is a repeat of the spring semester’s effort that raised nearly $2,500 for education relief efforts in Haiti.
– December 17, 6-10pm: Happy Hour! Come join Kappa Chapter to celebrate the end of another semester. Free food and severely discounted drinks! This event will be open all current and former members of Kappa chapter. There’s nearly 500 in the area, so expect some good networking.
