2010-2011 Programs ☆

| October 1, 2010

Thursday evening, a group of us sat down to brainstorm some ideas for the coming year. A few of the thoughts that made our final list were:

– the Avner Segall talk on Oct 5

– Terry Maltbia’s presentation on Nov 17

– holding our first fall induction in several years: Nov 20

– turning the December 17 member social into a city-wide member networking event

– narrowing the list of keynote speakers for our March 8th Centennial Conference

– finalizing a co-sponsored event with the TC Chinese Students & Scholars Association, to include the Chinese representative to the United Nations

– expanding our book drive to include Columbia’s Morningside campus

– helping PS 125 create a community mural for their school

– enlisting returned Peace Corps volunteers to provide professional development and continuing education credits to practicing teachers

– hosting an open invitation end-of-year social at the International House

There were a lost of other great ideas thrown around. These are just the ones I remembered to fit on our calendar. If you have other suggestions, why not leave them as a comment?

Hopefully we’ll see you at one of these excellent events!
